It was on 20th July 2015 that the National Wheelchair Leadership Alliance was formed, with our current name of Wheelchair Alliance being adopted in March 2021. This special anniversary was marked with a range of activities, including the creation of a [commemorative anniversary logo](https://www.wheelchair-alliance.co.uk/hubfs/WHEELCHAIR%20ALLIANCE_10%20Years.png) and [timeline](https://www.wheelchair-alliance.co.uk/hubfs/Wheelchair%20Alliance%20timeline_FINAL.pdf), alongside a newsletter which was sent direct to all of our members. You can read this issue at: [https://bit.ly/4lntWTn](https://bit.ly/4lntWTn) During the anniversary celebrations, we also talked to some of those who have been with us since the very start of our journey, including our CEO and co-founder, [Nick Goldup](https://www.wheelchair-alliance.co.uk/blog/a-time-to-celebrate-a-decade-of-achievement), the Alliance’s President [Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson](https://www.wheelchair-alliance.co.uk/blog/continuing-to-push-for-change-ten-years-on) and [Professor Moira Livingstone](https://www.wheelchair-alliance.co.uk/blog/a-movement-that-continues-to-drive-change-faster-and-further), former NHS Improving Quality clinical director. As a community interest company, we are incredibly proud of our recent successes, pushing forward the agenda with Government on the issues facing wheelchair users accessing the right chair at the right time. Coming together as one Alliance to represent wheelchair users, NHS, manufacturers and charities is the right approach. A big thank you goes out to everyone for their hard work and dedication over the last decade. However, we still have a long journey ahead to ensure fair provision for all. This is a special type of company which exists to benefit a specific community, namely the community of wheelchair users in England.
