The Wheelchair Alliance, with support from the RFU Injured Players Foundation, is creating a new national user-led group of wheelchair users called The Wheelchair Collective. This group will make sure lived experience shapes national strategy, policy and service improvement.

Recruitment for the voluntary regional representatives is now underway in the East of England, London, Midlands, North East and Yorkshire, North West, South East, South West, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. In addition, The Wheelchair Collective will also appoint a Youth Leader and Chair..

What is the Collective?

A group of wheelchair users who share insight from their regions and communities, attend quarterly online meetings, and help influence change through lived experience. One national in person event takes place each year. Support and reasonable adjustments will be provided.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

- are a wheelchair user living in the UK
- want to represent voices in your region and share lived experience
- can attend quarterly online meetings
- can commit for around two to three years

Experience in community groups, peer networks or advocacy is helpful but not essential.

You can also express interest in the Youth Leader role (ages 16 to 25) or the Chair role.
